Materials Science at UW-Stout
UW-Stout is Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University, offering career-focused degree programs with a liberal arts education.
In 2008, the science departments became part of a new College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The science departments play a crucial role in the cross-disciplinary biotechnology, nanotechnology, science education, engineering, and bioinformatics programs, and support the cognitive neuroscience, dietetics, construction, packaging, engineering, and vocational rehabilitation programs through service courses. Instruction is also provided for students not majoring in science.
The Discovery Center is the key entry point for industry to engage in partnerships with UW-Stout. The center has facilitated dozens of collaborative projects involving the creativity and technical skills of more than 300 students and faculty. These projects tap resources from every college on campus and connect UW-Stout with industry and community partners to advance economic development and workforce opportunities.
